County Supervisor Dianne Jacob Thursday endorsed District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis' San Diego mayoral campaign, while an organization working to elect fiscally responsible Republicans threw its support behind one of her main rivals, Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego.
Jacob said Dumanis' protection of 2007 wildfire victims from unlicensed scam artists and her quick response to a rise in pimping of young girls by gang members showed that she is the best candidate to tackle the city of San Diego's challenges.
"As district attorney, Bonnie's been an integral part of the county team for nine years and I've seen her usher in a new era of efficiency, creativity and improved morale to her department,'' Jacob said. "She does the right things for the right reasons, and she doesn't back down.''
